<p>PURPOSE:To provide a pipe joint suitable to connect and disconnect a piping for cars, construction machinery, machine tools, etc., particularly the piping in a restricted space where it is difficult to use tools. CONSTITUTION:A pipe joint 11 is composed of a tubular male and female bodies 12 and 13 connected to a pipe body. The male body is fitted closely into the female body, and a sealing O-ring 16 is installed between the opposed surfaces to keep sealing property. Also an annular connecting member is fitted closely into a space secured by grooves 17 and 18 formed in the opposed surfaces of both bodies in circumferential direction, respectively, to integral with each other. In a connecting member made of elastic material capable of increasing or decreasing the diameter of it with respect to the pipe body, an annular pressing piece 27 is provided between the male body and the female body slidably in axial direction. The annular connecting member is pressed by its tip 28 to increase or decrease the diameter, and the annular connecting body is stored in one side groove. On the other hand, the annular pressing piece is mounted elastically against the female body in the axial direction, and the rear end of the annular pressing piece is made in contact with a collar 32 provided around the periphery of the male body.</p> |
