<p>PURPOSE:To make a rewritable thermal recording device compact and thereby reduce cost by arranging the arrays of thermal resistors for thermal recording and deletion, and connecting a common electrode arranged between the thermal resistors to said resistors, on the same surface where a glazed layer is provided. CONSTITUTION:Discrete electrodes 25, 26 and a commond electrode 27 are arranged on the surface of a glazed layer 24 formed on the end surface 21 and the main surfaces 22, 23 of a plate-like substrate 20. In addition, two arrays of thermal resistors 28, 29 are provided parallel on both sides across the common electrode and electrically connected to the other between the thermal resistors, on the tip part where a pair of discrete electrodes 25, 26 and the common electrode 27 arranged on the edge 21 of the plate-like substrate 20, are assembled in the other like a comb. If data is thermally recorded on a thermal recording film, the discrete electrodes 25 are selectively energized and the thermal resistor 28 for thermal recording is driven under control to heat a specified thermal area required for the printing action of the thermal resistor 28. If data is thermally deleted, the thermal resistor 29 for thermal deletion is allowed to heat. Thus a thermal recording film is heated and consequently, data such as characters previously recorded thermally is deleted.</p> |
