<p>PURPOSE:To provide a technique for obtaining a protoplast from the callus of Melissa officinalis and subsequently culturing the protoplast. CONSTITUTION:A callus originated from the seed, etc., is preliminarily treated with a liquid medium, and the preliminarily treated callus is treated with an enzyme including a pectin lyase preparation and a polygalacturonase preparation to obtain the objective protoplast. The protoplast can be cultured by culturing the obtained protoplast in a medium containing auxin.</p> |
