Lead 14 is fused to the edge of the electrode 11 projecting from a wound capacitor, e.g. by percussive welding. A charged bank of capacitors is connected to the lead and to the capacitor body and the circuit completed by moving the lead up to the electrode to which it is to be fused, and apparatus for carrying out the process is described in Specification 1,136,378. The process is particularly applicable when the electrode is of a metal such as aluminium which solders poorly. |
