PURPOSE:To prevent generation of remaining EGR gas in an intake system by continuously performing supercharge operation only for a specified period in a condition in which EGR on the upstream side is stopped when the EGR on the upstream side is released. CONSTITUTION:A supercharger 22, an intake bypass passage 29 which bypasses the supercharger 22 and an air bypass valve(ABV) 30 interposed in the intake bypass passage 29 are provided. An EGR passage 39 on the upstream side and an EGR passage 40 on the upstream side are also provided. Supplyor exhaust gas from the EGR passage 39 on the upstream side is performed when an engine operational condition is in a supercharge operational range and also in the EGR range. When the engine operational condition is transferred from this condition to the non-supercharged operational range, supplyor the exhaust gas from the EGR passage 39 on the upstream side is stopped before the releasing operation of an air bypass valve 30. Consequently, generation of the remaining EGR gas in an intake system can be prevented by scavenging the EGR gas in the intake passage 17. |
