PURPOSE:To prevent the dislodgment of a toner and to recover a carrier to solve the problems such as interior contamination and the deterioration of image quality by providing an electrode which impresses the bias voltage of the same polarity as the electrostatic charge polarity of the toner between a developing device and a transfer device so as to face the surface of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:The electrode 29 is provided between the developing device 6 and the transfer device 7 so as to face the surface of the photosensitive body 1. The spacing between said counter electrode 29 and the surface 8 of the photosensitive body is so set as to be made successively larger toward the down stream side in the turning direction of the body 1. A DC power source 33 which impresses the bias voltage of the same polarity as the electrostatic charge polarity of the toner (a) is connected to the electrode 29. An electric field is generated between the body 1 and the electrode 29 by such constitution. The repulsive force by the same polarity charge can be consequently applied to the toner (a...) sticking to the surface 8, by which the dislodgment of the toner (a...) from the surface 8 is suppressed. |
