PURPOSE:To contrive to shorten the time required for fusing the ends of a band-like body made of thermoplastic resin by a method wherein heating bodies, which are abutted against a retainer plate, are removed from the retainer plate and then cooling bodies are directly abutted against the retainer plate in order to cool the retainer plate under the condition that the heating bodies are removed from the retainer plate. CONSTITUTION:The neighborhood of both ends of a mold K are pinched with clamps 6 and the resultant pinched state is held. After that, against the middle portion of the mold K heating platens 4, which are heated up to about 180 deg.C, are abutted from above and below. After the elapse of a certain period of time, the heating platens are removed from the mold K under the condition that the clamps 6 are held as they are and cooling platens 5 are abutted against the central portion of the mold K so as to quickly start the solidification of thethermoplastic resin band under molten state. After the elapse of a certain period of time, the clamps 6 are disengaged so as to remove belt 3 from the mold K in order to complete a loop-like belt 3. |
