This invention relates to certain microorganisms and to the use of these microorganisms to biodegrade monomers, oligomers, or combinations thereof. In addition, the present invention relates to a method of biodegrading monomers, oligomers or combinations thereof, by contacting microorganisms with culture medium, activated sludge or a buffer which include as a carbon source, for growing the microorganisms or as a metabolic substrate for resting cells, monomer, oligomers or a combination thereof. Further, the invention relates to a co-metabolism effect where the biodegradation of a first acrylic oligomer is accelerated by the presents of a second acrylic oligomer having a lower degree of polymerization than the first acrylic oligomer.
