The method for auto-converting large English character to small English character or vice versa, in electronic typewriter comprises the steps of: inputting signal for amending and converting character, storing starting point for amending and converting the character to memory, storing ending point for amending and converting the character to memory, determining whether or not the character between said starting point and said ending point is small, converting the character to small character or large character, and printing the converted character. Thus according to this invention the typing effect is improved by said auto-converting method.
