An extrusion head for electric or optical cable insulation with synthetic extruded materials has the means to centre the wire guide (13) w.r.t. the die (12). A first eccentric cylindrical part (15) is located inside a second eccentric cylindrical part (16); both mounted in a die support (11). The first part (15) carries the wire guide (13). The two parts (15,16) are coupled to two independantly driven motors (25,26) controlled in response to a signal from a conductor to insulation concentricity sensor. ADVANTAGE - Conductor centering is controlled automatically with short reaction times to conductor off centering.
