Evacuation system for flat floored silo - uses fluidisation technique with pressurised air flowing through tunnels and then vents arranged in pipes to direct product towards emptying mechanism

The system uses a number of tunnels (6) made from curved metal sheets. These are arranged on the flat floor (1) of the silo to form channels (7) in between that are connected to an emptying mechanism (4) for the product. The tunnels are connected to a pressurised air system and through a number of vents (9) air is also fed into the channels. The vents are arranged along the length of the edges of the channels. The vents are formed in parallel pipes (11) arranged one after the other on the floor of the silo. The pipes have a constant cross section along their length. The pipes are arranged along the edge of the tunnels in such a way so as to direct the product contained in the adjacent channel towards the emptying mechanism. USE/ADVANTAGE - For evacuating a silo containing granular or pulverised material. Can be manufactured and installed at economic cost.
