A motorway traffic sign is U-shaped on plan with its open end facing oncoming traffic & made of flexible material attached to a plate so that, if struck by a vehicle, it flattens. It is double sided round vertical pipes (2) extending the height of the sides (1a,1b,1c) which slope down towards leg ends. The inside face is corrugated. A shoe (11) at bottom of high part with pin sits in plate (3) with bent back side. Plastic cords connect tops of ends to retain shape after vehicle impact.
