The drain, esp. for collecting rainwater and discharging it into an underground main (18), consists of a chamber (2), basically parallelepiped in shape, with the width of its end walls smaller than the length of its side walls or its height. The end walls are sufficiently wide to accommodate a standard inverted U-bend of about 200 mm dia. The U-bend (12) is fitted into the chamber through an aperture in its end wall contg. a sleeve (14) which is linked to the main (18). The chamber is open at the top, with a rim shaped to receive a drain grid, and it can be made in one piece from glass fibre-reinforced polyester with a gel-coat on its inner surfaces. ADVANTAGE - Chamber is completely watertight, and is easy and quick to clean.
