The security device is fitted to ornaments that project outward from the coachwork of a vehicle, particularly the upright bonnet mascots fitted to some vehicles. A detector fitted in the base of the mascot responds to tractive force, and activates an electronic circuit that delivers an audible alarm. The alarm can activate the horn, and lock electric doors and petrol filler cap releases. The detector is formed by an extended rod passing through the base of the mascot. One end is attached to the mascot and the lower end carries electrical contacts that close against fixed contacts if the rod is displaced. USE/ADVANTAGE - E.g. For high prestige cars such as Mercedes, Rolls Royce etc. Activates alarm and automatically locks electrically operated doors of vehicle if mascot is tampered with.
