The ignition is controlled by an electronic circuit housed in a module (1) that is mounted on a support (3) attached to a wall of the cylinder head (Q). The module has internal passages and external connections to allow part of the engine cooling water to pass through it and remove heat generated by the electronic circuit. The water is taken from the radiator outflow (7) and delivered directly into the ignition module. The water is then evacuated into a conduit carrying water to the engine block. The water circulates through the ignition module under a thermal siphon effect. ADVANTAGE - Reduces size of electronic ignition module and increases reliability and life of electronic ignition circuit.
