It image projection apparatus for display includes a sync. separation/deflection circuit, a shutter driving circuit, a black/white CRT, a first, second and third electron liquid crystal shutters for reflecting an image displayed via the black/white CRT from first, second and third mirrors and first, second, third and fourth spectral mirrors, and selectively transmitting R,G and B chrominance signals according to the output of the shutter driving circuit, a sync. detecting circuit for detecting a horizontal sync. signal from a mixed image signal, a lens for converging an image passing through the third mirror and third and fourth spectral mirrors and projecting the converged image onto a large screen, thereby improving picture quality and facilitaing the manufacturing.
