摘要 1348915 Magnetic separating USTAV PRO VYZKUM RUD 2 June 1971 [21 July 1970] 18650/71 Heading B2J In a high intensity multizone magnetic separator for wet separation of weakly magnetic material a number of separation chambers are linked to form an endless chain, each chamber is provided with loosely accommodated open structured induction bodies and individual chambers are advanced in a horizontal direction through vertical magnetic flux between opposite poles of magnetic yokes. As shown, a plurality of chambers 6 are linked by links 9 to form an endless chain which is guided so as to be advanced in a horizontal direction between the poles 5, 5a of large horse shoe electromagnets (1, 1a). Each chamber 6 contains a loose pile of expanded metal sheets of soft magnetic material, which sheets are preferably staggered with respect to each other. The sheets have limited vertical free play so as to reduce the risk of clogging. In operation, pulp to be separated is fed continuously into the chambers 6 by a charging hopper 14 as they approach the magnetic flux zone. Magnetic particles in the pulp adhere to the expanded metal until washed off by water jets from nozzles 23 as the chamber leaves the magnetic flux zone. A collecting funnel 20 is provided. Non-magnetic components either pass through the chambers to be collected by funnel 18 or are rinsed through to a funnel 19 by water from a nozzle 22 in the magnetic flux zone. Any particles passing through the chambers before reaching the magnetic flux zone are collected by a funnel 17 and recycled. Several separating zones may be provided along upper and lower portions of the endless chain (Fig. 3, not shown). A magnetic flux density of 16,000 Gauss is referred to.
