WHOLE ORE TREATMENT PROCESS FOR THE RECOVERY OF NICKEL, COBALT AND COPPER FROM SULFIDE ORE AND TAILINGS

There is disclosed a process for recovery of cobalt, nickel and copper from sulfide bearing materials including ores and refractory metal bearing materials. The process results in greater than 95% recovery from the sulfide material using a ferric chloride leach system. The efficiency is obtained without the conventional disadvantages of high temperature and expensive apparatus to effect the extraction.
