The system comprises prefabricated hollow panels (5, 5A) with a layer of insulating material (19) between their inner (16) and outer (17) skins. The vertical end of each panel is closed by an extrusion (6) with flanges (13, 14) which cover the edges of the panel, inner L-section branches (8, 9) and a corrugated central section (10) which engages with the section of the same shape on the adjacent panel. The panel end extrusions form a seal between adjacent panels while permitting a relative movement in three dimensions. Two panels can be joined at right angles to form the corner of a structure by inner and outer angle joints. ADVANTAGE - Simple and economic construction which is resistant to external forces such as earth tremors or cyclones.
