Process for preparing bituminous coated gravel consists of breaking up old asphalt material into particles; sieving to obtain an asphalt sand of granulometry O to d; coating the larger particles of granulometry d to D with a wet bituminous binder; and adding a quantity of the asphalt sand to the larger coated particles and mixing together at ambient temp. USE/ADVANTAGE - As material for filling in pot holes in roads, old excavation sites and ground subsidence. Is easy and efficient way of producing bituminous coated material without using excess liq. binder or two coating operations. The shelf life of the prepared material is longer than that of other material.
