The invention concerns a regulation method for the regulating of the temperature of a reactor 10 which is used for the polymerization of olefins, by which method a cooling medium is taken to the cooling jacket 11 of the reactor 10 along an inflow line 12 and heated cooling medium is removed from the cooling jacket 11 along a return flow line 14. According to the method the temperature of the reactor 10 is measured by at least one temperature measuring device 15, 16 and 17. With the regulating device 18 for the temperature of the reactor 10, the first regulator 36 is controlled by the regulating device 21 for the inflow of cooling medium, which regulator regulates the inflow temperature of the cooling medium by controlling the valves 25, 26, 27 in the branch lines 22, 23, 24 which are located in the inflow line 12, in such a way that the required temperature is obtained in the inflow line 12. The second regulator 37 of the regulating device 21 for inflow of cooling medium regulates the size of the inflow of cooling medium by controlling the valves 25, 26, 27 in the branch lines 22, 23, 24 which are located in the inflow line 12, in such a way that the temperature is not significantly changed. <IMAGE>
