Cobalt-based alloy, characterized in that it contains, by weight, 14-16% chromium, 4-7% molybdenum, up to 0.2% silicon, up to 0.010% carbon, up to 0.010% phosphorus, up to 0.010% sulphur, and nickel and manganese, of which the total content is 28-34%, the ratio of nickel to manganese being 6.5-15, and additionally niobium in a quantity of 0.4-0.8%, the remainder being cobalt.
