The parallel frequency converter network uses active compensation control for controlling the current distribution between the individual converters. Faulty frequency converters are switched out of operation while the network is in use, to provide increased reliability. Individual frequency converters can be switched in and out of operation to allow the frequency converter network to be adapted to load variations. The converter outputs are coupled via terminal choke coils.
