The memory cell field (1) has cells in lines and columns. Two data holders (T22, T22) are provided for data in one line of the memory cell field. An alternate data transfer device (11) transmits the data stored in the lines of the cell field to the two data holders as a reaction to an externally applied state control signal. An alternate data delivery device (19, 200) provides an alternate output for the data from the two data holders as a reaction to an externally applied serial clock pulse signal. The alternate data delivery device has a first counter (200) for the serial clock pulse signals up to an externally applied data length value for generating a switching control signal.
