A printed circuit board having a micro-processor 10 for the control of a device 20 (e.g. hot water supply to a bidet) comprises a rectifier 5, a smoothing electrolytic capacitor 6 and a device for detecting 9 the voltage outputted from the electrolytic capacitor, where the micro-processor 10 is set to stop the control of device 20 upon receipt of a fault signal from the detecting device. The entire pcb and components thereon, with the exception of the head of capacitor 6, are encased in a protective synthetic resin; capacitor 6 corrodes before any other component. When smoothing capacitor 6 fails, the voltage appearing at detector 9 is a full-wave rectified signal and a fault signal is sent to microprocessor 10.
