The invention concerns a method of mixing two media of differing viscosities, in particular for mixing a highly viscous liquid paste in a low-viscosity liquid under low pressure, and a device for carrying out said method. The liquid, low-viscosity medium flows through a mixing chamber under low pressure. The highly viscous medium is subjected to high pressure and injected into the low-viscosity medium radially in relation to the latter's direction of flow. As the pressure is reduced, the highly viscous medium is atomized into particles small enough to allow them to dissolve immediately and without coagulation in the low-viscosity medium.
