The component includes a solar cell assembly (20) between an outer plate arrangement (10) and an inner plate arrangement (14). The inner plate arrangement has a device to prevent transparency from the inner plate arrangement to the solar cell assembly. The solar cell assembly for the outer plate arrangement consists of polycrystalline solar cells, whose active side is directed towards the incident radiation of the sun. The transparency preventing device is a solar cell assembly (22) made of amorphous (thin layer) solar cells, whose active side is directed in opposite direction to that of the polycrystalline solar cells. ADVANTAGE - Is optimised both with regard to aesthetic requirements and also w.r.t. its efficiency.
