The loader allows manual or automatic loading and has an adjustable frame (10) with a sheet delivery (11) above the sheet assembly magazine (5) using a delivery conveyor (12) which conveys the sheets in an overlapping stream. The delivery conveyor pref. has an evaluation stage at its end providing a stack within the magazine of the required sheet sets. The working direction of the delivery conveyor at its end may be at right angles to the base of the assembly magazine so that the sheet sets are stacked next to one another. The device uses level sensors to determine hight of sheet sets. ADVANTAGE - Provides automatic loading without preventing direct manual loading.
