The seal for a rotating piston engine having a rotating fly piston (12) in a cylindrical housing, has seals (13, 14) to seal against the housing (1), and at least one internal seal (15) for a shaft (6, 7). The seals are located in grooves which are on a plane with seal ends supported via bevelled surfaces. The internal seal has a centrifugal force dependent, pressure system (20), which uses centrifugal force to press against the inner seal. ADVANTAGE - Maintains sealing force with increasing speed of rotation.
