<p>PURPOSE:To reduce cost by making use of an activated carbon filter effectively by providing an activated carbon filter having a system in which any one of an air intake and an exhaust port can be closed according to operating conditions. CONSTITUTION:When being connected to power source, the activated carbon filters 8 and 9 are superposed on the exhausting side, and dust-containing air sucked up by the air intake 2 is charged between the dust-collecting electrode 4 and the discharge line 6 and then absorbed on the dust-collection electrode 4. Gases and odors which escape from the process are adsorbed on the movable activated carbon filter 9 and the fixed activated carbon filter 8 provided at the exhaust port 3, and only the cleaned air is discharged to the outside of the a-paratus. When not connected to power source, the movable activated carbon filter 9 closes the intake 2 and the fixed activated carbon filter closes the exhaust port 3 to prevent the escape of the odors of dust, etc., adhered to the dust-collecting electrode 4 to the outside through the air intake 2 and the exhaust port 3.</p> |
