In order to dispose of waste, a waste type is selected by means of a waste type selector unit (6) among a plurality of predetermined waste types and the waste is introduced by a conveyor that cooperates with the waste type selector unit (6) into a collecting bin (7) that is automatically made available for the purpose of waste packaging. Before it is introduced into the collecting bin (7), the waste can be automatically comminuted in a grinder (15) and pressed and compacted in a press (21). In addition, the collecting bins (7) may be provided with a code that identifies their contents and the originator of the waste. In order to package the waste, a wast packaging unit (1) is arranged inside the collecting bins (7). The collecting bins filled with waste are temporarily or finally stored in a material separator and/or sorter according to their code that is read by a reading device. The read code may also be used to determine the costs of waste disposal services. |
