1279550 Pulse generators SINGER CO 2 Dec 1970 [7 July 1970] 57212/70 Heading H2A [Also in Division G4] A gear train driven by a flow meter rotates a wheel 62 which, during each revolution, winds a spring 92 coupled to a further wheel 84 which is released for movement after each revolution of wheel 62, whereby a magnet 66 coupled to wheel 84 by a one-way clutch 142 is rotated relative to polepieces 168, 170 of a coil 162 to produce an A.C. output which is rectified by diodes 172a, 172b. Thus for each revolution of wheel 62, magnet 66, having alternate N and S poles at 90 degrees spacing, is spun through at least 360 degrees and induces several cycles of A.C. in coil 162, the diodes providing a single D.C. pulse of sufficient magnitude to operate a remotely-located counter. Wheel 62 carries a cam surface 102 which pivots locking lever 124 at the end of each revolution so that lever 124 is disengaged from teeth 130 on wheel 84. |
