Coated elastic fabric - for trouser belts with high water - and solvent resistance

Elastic fabric comprising a cloth which is extendable in one direction and is coated with a vulcanised elastic product comprising a mixt. of a natural or synthetic elastomer and an org. polyisocyanate. Thermoplastic fibres such as nylon are pref. cloths and these are extendable in the direction of the chain. Neoprene is pref. elastomer whilst aromatic diisocyanate is pref. polyisocyanate. The elastomer also contains an antioxidant. This elastic fabric is used to make belts for trousers. These belts have excellent elasticity in the length but are rigid in width; they also possess excellent water and solvent resistance.
