PURPOSE:To reduce a predictive error at the edge area of a screen, in the prediction system of a moving image signal by which the predicted signal of the entire screen can be obtained by multiplying a window function by the predicted signals of each block, and overlapping them. CONSTITUTION:The window function for the block positioned at a part except the edge of the screen is multiplied by the predicted signal calculated by each block by a weighting circuit 20, the window function for the block positioned at the side of the screen is multiplied by a weighting circuit 21, and the window function for the block positioned at the angle of the screen is multiplied by a weighting circuit 22. One of the outputs of the three weighting circuits is selected by a selector 26 according to the position of the block in the screen. The signal selected by the selector 26 is overlapped according to the position of the block, so that the predicted signal of the entire screen can be calculated. |
