PURPOSE:To treat the surface of inorg. fine powder so that the powder can inhibit a change in the quantity of triboelectric charge of a toner due to an environmental change, can impart high flowability and can inhibit melt sticking to a photosensitive body when the powder is added to the toner. CONSTITUTION:The surface of inorg. fine powder having active hydrogen on at least the surface and >=20m<2>/g BET specific surface area measured by a nitrogen adsorption method is made hydrophobic by wet treatment with a coupling agent in a soln. in a reactor. After a coupling reaction, the unreacted coupling agent in the soln. is adsorbed on a material having active hydrogen on the surface and is recovered from the reactor. |
