PURPOSE:To simply obtain only a panoramic image of a sectional plane of a subject even when an object impenetrable to X rays is present in the vicinity of the central axis of the subject. CONSTITUTION:Rotating devices 4a and 4b hold a rotationally symmetric subject 6 between an X-ray source 2 and a slit 8 with the central axis of the subject 6 left in deviation from the optical path and also rotate it around the central axis thereof. An arithmetic processing device 14 extracts a plurality of output images in a prescribed amount of rotation from a plurality of output images of an X-ray detector 10 in each rotation of the subject 6 and also makes them overlap each other in a prescribed amount of slippage corresponding to the prescribed amount of rotation, composing them in a panoramic image of a tomographic face located at a prescribed distance from the central axis of the subject 6. Accordingly, only the panoramic image of the sectional plane of the subject can be obtained simply without projecting or passing X rays through an object which is present in the vicinity of the central axis of the subject 6 and impenetrable to X-rays. |
