PURPOSE:To prevent deviation of correspondence of KANA letters (Japanese phonetic syllabary primated at the side of ideograph) due to edition by storing characters designated to add KANA in a specified memory area correlating to the KANA letters, replacing character code with controlling information, and obtaining KANA letters according to the information. CONSTITUTION:A cursor is set to the position of the forefront character of a character string to which KANA letters are to be added by operating a key inputting device 11 After operating a KANA designation key, the cursor is set to the position of last character of the character string to which KANA letters are to be added following guide message of a display unit 13, and the KANA designation key is operated. When designation of character string to which KANA letters are to be added, an input controlling mechanism 12 displays character string (characters to which KANA letters are to be added) in above-mentioned designated extent in the input line of the display unit 13 to demand inputting of KANA letters. When inputting of KANA letters for above-mentioned designated characters to which KANA letters are to be added is completed, inputted KANA letters are to be added is completed, inputted KANA letter string is handed over to a proofreading and editing mechanism 14. The proofreading and editing mechanism 14 checks adequacy of inputted KANA letters and prepares data structure, and displays KANA letters in a KANA letter display space when the cursor is on the character to which KANA letters are to be added. |
