PURPOSE:To provide a VP connection device provided with efficient processing algorithm on which the operating information of the VP connection device is mounted by dividing into plural cells for VP trace. CONSTITUTION:An operating information attaching means 20 for the virtual trace of the VP connection device and a specific means for an OAM cell to write the operating information are provided at the OAM cell, and the means is provided with a detecting means 11 for the OAM cell to perform the VP trace from another VP connection device, and judging means 12, 13 which judge the presence/absence of an area on which the operating information in its own device is attached and issue an instruction to the operating information attaching means are provided at the OAM cell, and the operating information attaching means 20 outputs the operating information to a specified OAM cell by attaching the operating information when an instruction to attach the operating information is issued. and outputs the information to the OAM cell from another VP connection device as showing that the cell is not the last cell when an instruction representing the absence of the area is issued, and generates a new OAM cell, and shows the final cell, and outputs it by attaching the operating information.
