PURPOSE:To encode/decode the plural kinds of input signals by synchronizing plural video signals, thereby recognizing them as one video signal, and coding/ decoding it. CONSTITUTION:A coding part 100 inputs the Y signal (luminance signal), Pb signal (a first color difference signal), and Pc signal (a second color difference signal) of an HDTV signal from input terminals 1a-1c. Also, the coding part 100 inputs the first NTSC signal from input terminals 1d, 1h, and 1l, the second NTSC signal from input terminals 1e, 1i, and 1m, the third NTSC signal from input terminals 1f, 1j, and 1n, and the fourth NTSC signal from input terminals 1g, 1k, and 1o. Input multiplexing circuits 3a-3c synchronize four kinds of input signals to be outputted. Input selecting circuits 4a-4c select the HDTV signal and the NTSC signal, and transmit the selected signal to an encoding circuit 5a. On the other hand, in a decoding part, one of four NTSC signals multiplexed by an output separator circuit is selected, and converted into the form of the NTSC signal to be outputted. |
