PURPOSE:To enable the device to surely retain and seal a filter cartridge by means of its case and cover so that the filter cartridge can exert its function as a filter even when slight dimensional variation exists between the cartridge and its related location. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical body 6 is inserted into a gap between the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical recessed section of a case 1 and outer peripheral surface of a cartridge 3 and the right end face of the body 6 is air-tightly fitted in a groove on the case 1 side, with the left end face of the body 6 being pressed by a cover 2 with an annular sealing member 5 in between. Parallel slits which are parallel with the axis of the body 6 are formed on the whole peripheral surface of the body 6 and the sections between each slit are deformed by buckling, with the buckling direction being fixed inward, because the sections come into contact with a projecting section 1a on the inner peripheral surface of the case 1. Therefore, the cartridge is surely sealed, since a sealing member 4 is further pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the cartridge 3 by the sections deformed inward by buckling between each slit.
