[Also in Division A4] A pair of sliding doors which are flush when in the closed position comprises a first door 11 which remains in the same plane when opened and a second door 12 which is guided when opened to a position behind door 11 by bevelled lower and upper surfaces 19 and 20 on the rear of door 11, the side 16 of the first door which abuts the second door being wedgeshaped with a rearwardly slanting surface forming an angle of less than 45‹ with the front surface of the door 11, the side 18 of the second door which abuts the first door being wedge-shaped and forming an angle between 135‹ and 90‹ with the front surface of the door 12 or being curved such that the side of the first door forms a tangent to the curved surface when the doors are closed. The bottom of door 11 which is suspended by wheels 14 which move along a front track 15 is maintained in the same plane by the coaction of an upwardly extending guide 28 and groove 30 or by an outer guide 29. Door 12 is suspended by plates 22 which are continually pressed towards the closed door position by springs 27 encasing the rear of a rod 23 on which plates side, the ends of rod 23 having wheels 24 and 25 which move in tracks 21 and 26. The bottom of door 12 is positioned by a spring actuated plunger 32 which engages the rear of the door. (Figs. 4-6 not shown) illustrate doors which are not suspended, door (111) which remains in the same plane when opened being guided by top and bottom guides and grooves such as 28 and 30. Door (112) is guided behind door (111) by sliding contact with a forward moving pressure bar (34) affixed to spring actuated plungers (35), the rearmost position of door (112) being guided by a bar 36. When closed the doors are positioned close to each other by the interaction of a magnet (54) (Fig. 7 not shown) extending vertically along the edge 18 of door 12 and a ferrous metal section (55) which extends vertically along the edge 16 of door 11.
