<p>PURPOSE:To enable a hot-water heater installed underground to be used again even after having been submerged under water or used while being in a state of submergence. CONSTITUTION:Inside a waterproofing case 10 having an opening 10a at a lower position a hot-water heater 6 is housed and a water detector 9 is provided close to the opening 10a. A controller 7 is provided as a means which, when the water detector 9 detects entry of water through the opening 10a, reacts to a signal denoting the detection and stops the burner 2 from working. Also a blocking device 11 is provided, which, as the burner 2 is stopped from working, closes an exit to an exhaust gas flue 8 under control by the controller 7. In this manner enter of water into the closed waterproofing case 10 is prevented.</p> |
