PURPOSE:To prolong the life of deodrizing performance and expand the kind of bad odor matter as an object to be deodrized and to widen a deodrizable concentration range by providing a deodrizing device where at least one kind or more of germs are fixed in a flow passage of air to be processed. CONSTITUTION:In an indoor unit 8 of an air conditioner, a germ filter 19 is mounted on a suction inlet 13 formed on a front panel 12 located frontally of a casing 9 accomodating a heat exchanger 10 and an air supply fan 11. The germ filter 1a is adapted such that a single germ 2 having a capability to decompose various bad odor matters (acetic acid, amnonia, aldehyde, etc.), say Rhodococcus sp. is taken as a germ supporter 3 is fixed to particulate activated carbon as a deodrizing device, and the fixed germ is filled. Upon air condition operation, the bad odor matter 5 is first absorbed by water 4 and is adsorbed on the surface of the germ 2 together with the water 4, and thereafter it is incorporated in the germ 4 to be decomposed into non-odor matter. |
