PURPOSE:To provide a new polyolefin derivative useful as a photoconductive material, sensitizer for electrophotography, etc., and, especially owing to its anisotropy, useful as a quadratic non-linear optical material, high-efficiency solar cell, etc. CONSTITUTION:The derivative of formula I [R<1> and R<2> are (hydroxyl or alkyl- substituted) alkyl or substituent of formula II ((m) and (n) are 1 or 2; Y is S or NH); R<3> is (substituted) phenyl; X<-> is univalent anion], e.g. the compound of formula I wherein R<1> is C3H6OH, R<2> is CH3, R<3> is phenyl and X<-> is I<->. The compound of formula I can be produced e.g. by reacting a compound of formula III with a compound of the formula R<1>OH in the presence of silver nitrate at about 20 deg.C for 1hr and reacting the obtained compound of formula IV with a compound of the formula R<2>X in the presence of a base (e.g. potassium carbonate) in N,N-dimethylformamide at about 20 deg.C for 24hr. |
