PURPOSE:To provide a low-noise indoor unit of an air conditioner by efficiently absorbing the noise of a fan, and preventing deterioration of the aerodynamic characteristic of the fan that may be caused by air leaks. CONSTITUTION:An indoor unit of an air conditioner having a fan 3 and a heat exchanger 4 includes a fan upper casing 3a made of an air permeable porous structural body, a hermetic fan lower casing 3b integrated with the upper casing to form the casing of the fan, and an air space 21 formed over the back side of the upper casing 3a.
