PURPOSE:To provide the hepatic function-improving and treating agent containing the extract of Asparagus.linearis as an active ingredient, not causing adverse actions, capable of rapidly treating the hepatic diseases, having excellent safety, and useful as a hangover and drunken sickness-preventing agent such as acute alcoholism diseases, etc. CONSTITUTION:The objective hepatic function-improving and treating agent contains as an active ingredient an Asparagus.linearis extract which is obtained e.g. by adding a 50-1000 times volume of water to the leaves or stems of the Asparagus.linearis belonging to the genus Leguminosae, boiling the mixture, further boiling and extracting the mixture for 5-30min and subsequently subjecting the treated mixture to a lyophilization, etc. The agent is preferably drunk at a dose of 100-1500ml/day as a solution of 1-5g dried leaves/liter, when commonly administered as a beverage. |
