The process according to the invention comprises at least one phase for tracking the boundaries of the various textures of an image by means of a circular mask. This mask is broken down uniformly into a set of sectors of identical sizes, oriented in various directions with respect to the image. Starting from an initial point and following an initial direction, the mean values of the attributes are calculated for certain sectors. A new point and a new direction are chosen on the basis of these calculations. The set of points constitutes a trace. The procedure is recommenced to obtain various traces which constitute the boundaries. The process comprises subsequent phases for grouping together boundaries which are too close and for classifying the various regions. <IMAGE> |
