In a packaging arrangement small size parts such as hobby sets, replacement parts, screws &c., the parts are lodged in groups, or singly, in recesses formed, e.g. by stamping or pressing, in a base member 5, or, as shown, in a superposed intermediate layer 6, and a skin-type flexible, and preferably transparent, foil is laid over the parts and drawn, by vacuum, down over them the base member 5 being coated with sealing means to co-operate with the foil only in areas immediately adjacent the recesses and the perimeter of the base member 5. This leaves the major area of the upper face of the base member, or of the intermediate member 6, if present, as shown, unsealed and free to receive printing instructions &c., which do not become torn away when the foil is removed. As shown, the recesses 11-14 and 21-24 respectively for parts 1 and 201-203 have cut away parts 15- 18 and 25-28 to provide coated sealing areas on the base member 5 which also has exposed coated sealing areas 50 around it edges formed by corresponding portions cut from the edge of the intermediate layer 6. Circular recesses 31, 41 provide coated sealing areas respectively around square and circular shaped parts 3, 4. The base member 5 is made of cardboard, or similar material. |
