PRODUCTION OF L-GLUTAMIC ACID BY FERMENTATION METHOD

摘要

PURPOSE:To improve productivity of L-glutamic acid by a bacterium belonging to the genus Escherichia and to inexpensively and efficiently produce L-glutamic acid. CONSTITUTION:A variant which belongs to the genus Escherichia, is deficient in alpha-ketoglutaric dehydrogenase activity or has reduced alpha-ketoglutaric dehydrogenase activity, reduced L-glutamic acid digesting activity and L- glutamic acid producing activity or a variant constitutionally manifesting ace operon besides these properties is cultured in a liquid medium. L-glutamic acid is formed and accumulated in the culture solution and collected.
