A green color phosphors having high brightness and high luminance are prepared by (1) mixing yttria (Y2O3), alumina (Al2O3) and terbium oxide (Tb4O7) at a proper ratio, (2) mixing the mixture with 1˜50 wt% sulfur as a flux such as MgF2 or BaF2, (3) sintering the mixture at 1,400˜1,600≦̸C for 1˜6 hours, (4) cleaning the sintered material with an acid such as nitric acid or hydrochloric acid, or alkali solution, and (5) filtering and drying them.
